Tallahassee PRP Hair Treatment

Whether you’re struggling with stress-related hair thinning, androgenic, or hereditary hair loss, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy could help your hair grow back thicker and healthier.

PRP is a non-surgical, minimally-invasive procedure that encourages new hair growth. The process begins by taking a blood sample from your arm. Next, we place the sample into a specially designed centrifuge that separates the platelet cells from other cells and combines them with the plasma (fluid portion), leaving behind a high concentration of platelets within the blood plasma. We then inject this platelet-rich plasma into the target area of treatment.

These platelets will help to encourage new hair growth by stimulating the activity at the root of the hair follicles. It’s a non-surgical solution that helps your body perform at its best.

PRP Can Treat Several Kinds of Hair Loss

There are a lot of different reasons that people experience hair loss. The good news is that PRP can treat almost all of them, helping your hair grow thicker.

How long does it last?

Many people return for a retouch of treatment about once a year. How long the effects last depends a lot on how your body responds to the treatment.

The Process

What is a PRP treatment for hair loss like? It’s a simple and non-surgical procedure and because the platelets come from your own body there are very few side effects. And with our care and expertise it is a relatively painless experience. Here’s what you can expect.

1. Blood is drawn from your arm and put into a centrifuge. If you have ever had blood drawn, then this will be very familiar. After we draw your blood, it will be placed in a special machine as described above

2.  In the centrifuge, your blood separates into a special platelet rich plasma. This step takes about 10 minutes.

3.  Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is extracted, drawn into a syringe, and injected into the scalp. Then, we take the platelet-rich plasma layer and place it into a syringe and inject it into your scalp. Because we take additional pain prevention steps in office this is usually not very painful and most people are able to bounce back pretty quickly after their appointment. Most people say they feel more pressure than pain during the injections, and it heals pretty quickly.

Wait…your own blood is injected into your scalp? Isn’t that dangerous?

The good news is that PRP therapy has no risk of disease spread or rejection because you’re only using your own blood. It’s a quick and safe procedure that only uses your own blood, so your risk of infection is very low.

Dos and Don’ts of PRP Injections

Before you get your PRP injections, there are a few things you should (and should not) do. Follow these tips to get the best results and experience.
Regardless of what type of massage you choose each and every method has a laundry list of major health benefits that will dramatically improve your health and wellbeing over time. From reducing pain, swelling, and stress, to increasing circulation, range of motion, and flexibility, to improving mental health, immune system, and energy, there are many ways that massage can benefit you. When you commit to receiving massages regularly, these benefits can make a huge impact on your life. Here are just some of the health benefits that come along with massages:

Do This Before the Procedure

Clean your hair before you arrive. This way it will be free from grease or dirt and there will be a sterile environment for the injection site.

Don't Do This Before the Procedure

Do not use hairspray, gel, or other hair products for at least three days before your treatment. This can increase the chances of negative side effects.

Do This After the Procedure

Do not take OTC anti-inflammatories for 10days. Simply live your life like normal after treatment. This includes resuming your normal hair-washing routine. PRP treatments should not impact your schedule or life.

Don't Do This After the Procedure

Don’t perm or color your hair for at least 72 hours after the procedure. The harsh chemicals could interact negatively with the injection sites.
